2024 Week 4 (Nebraska & Colorado)
I knew I would be in Nebraska for Friday night. But my Thursday and Saturday options were up in the air. Nebraska had a surprising number of available games to choose from for Thursday. But nothing on Saturday.

2024 Week 4 (Nebraska & Colorado)
I knew I would be in Nebraska for Friday night. But my Thursday and Saturday options were up in the air. Nebraska had a surprising number of available games to choose from for Thursday. But nothing on Saturday.
2023 Week 7 (Colorado)
After the last two weeks in Nebraska and Kansas, I moved west. For Week seven was three games in Colorado. For Thursday, there wasn’t many options, and one that I regret not taking advantage of given the outcome. However, the string of towns along I-70 from Seibert to Burlington have been on my mind for a while.

2020 Week 12 (Colorado & Kansas)
Earlier this season, I had seen games around the western states of Utah, Montana, North Dakota, and Texas. And, at the time, I had assumed that once I returned to Ohio, that I would stick to Ohio and Pennsylvania through the remainder of the season until any later trips. 2019 Week 10 (Upper Plains)
This week was something else. I started with a plan to see four games. A doubleheader in Denver on Thursday, a game in Lusk, Wyoming on Friday, and a Saturday afternoon playoff game in North Dakota. Continue reading “2019 Week 10 (Upper Plains)”
2019 Week 9 (Colorado)
So, back in Colorado again. Eastern Colorado. Not the noteworthy mountainous parts that most people association with the Centennial State. Instead, it’s the expansive plains of grassland for as far as the eye can see. Mostly. Continue reading “2019 Week 9 (Colorado)”
2019 Week 6 (Colorado & Kansas)
After my good fortune last weekend getting four games in, things were a bit rockier in Week 6. I was still in the western plains, and though there were a few Thursday options, Saturday in Kansas is basically devoid of games. There were a few games near Denver and two in western Missouri. And one in Texas for the afternoon (Odessa or Midland). Continue reading “2019 Week 6 (Colorado & Kansas)”
Colorado & Texas (Week 12)
Well, this will be a brief update as I’ve been busy all week and don’t have time to recap a lot. This weekend, I hope to be in Texas for the at least four games. Either in Arlington at Cowboys Stadium (2 games Friday, 4 games Saturday) or maybe Plainview and Odessa.
Wyoming & Colorado (Week 11)
This turned out to be an entertaining, albeit tiring weekend. I saw three games in 27 hours spanning 551 miles of high country. The reason was Wyoming’s willful disregard for Saturday games and Colorado having one decent game on Saturday afternoon.
Colorado (Week 3)
My first true weekend away from home netted two games in the Centennial State. Being in northeast Colorado, there wasn’t many options that I could easily get to Friday night.
I knew I could see Lamar host Kent Denver on Saturday afternoon, but still wanted a game under the Friday Night Lights. Almost every teams nearby that I checked was on the road. Every Greeley school was on the road or had played Thursday or play on Saturday.
So, I stumbled upon little Kersey, Colorado. Home of the Platte Valley Broncos. Located a few miles east of Greeley on US34, it is a small hamlet that serves as the hub of the eastern Weld County massive 243 square miles school district.
